My name is Patrick McKendry. I’m a people-first leader and CEO at UpRight Growth Company. A psychologist from my studies and a marketing leader by trade, I've long been interested in the intersection between leadership and team development. I cut my metaphorical management teeth at Red Ventures - the best company you've never heard of - leading teams of various sizes and skills from marketers to data scientists to software engineers. And I worked on brands you probably have heard of - Healthline, Bankrate, The Points Guy, & Uswitch (to name a few). After nearly a decade with RV, I joined UpRight with the goal of taking the management and leadership skills I learned and putting them to the test by making them the core principles of not just a team, but an entire business.

Leading teams has been the most challenging and meaningful work of my career. Through my time in the professional world, in my studies, and thanks to mentor relationships I've learned and compiled skills and practices to help teams to meet their potential. I'm excited to share them with you here. I write about topics pertaining to leadership, management, organizational psychology, and team development with a focus towards kind and active leadership and talent coaching.
